Mark B. road tests our Jazz Bass set
After the Precision Bass® came the Jazz Bass®. Originally introduced in 1960 as the Deluxe model, it was soon renamed the Jazz Bass® to appeal to Jazz musicians ad because it borrowed the offset contour waist of the Jazzmaster®.
With two bi-pole single-coil pickups, the sound is traditionally brighter than the Precision Bass® due to the positioning of the two pickups and the ability to control the two. The two pickups are RWRP to cancel hum when both are at full volume.
In 2005 Fender also introduced the Jaguar Bass®, with similar specs to the Jaguar guitar, it borrowed the Jazz Bass® pickups with Jaguar guitar style controls.
